  • A virgin cartridge is an "empty" OEM cartridge that has never been remanufactured or refilled in any way with the original (HP, Canon, Lexmark, Brother etc) label on it.
  • A non-virgin cartridge is an "empty" cartridge that may have been refilled several times. It may have a different label (Office Depot, LD Products, Remanufactured etc) and/or drill holes in the original label.
  • An OEM cartridge is a filled, unused new cartridge still in the foil or original wrapping inside the original (HP, Canon, Lexmark, Brother etc) unopened box.

Virgin
A "virgin" empty will have the OEM (original
equipment manufacturer) label such as HP,
Canon, Brother, Lexmark ,etc. still on the
cartridge label.
Non-Virgin
A non-virgin cartridge is an "empty" cartridge
that may have been refilled several times. It
may have a different label (Office Depot, LD
Products, Remanufactured etc) and/or drill
holes in the original label.
OEM
OEM cartridges are unused, new cartridges
which are still in the foil or original wrapping
inside the original, unopened box. These are
worth up to 3x the amount of the empty
cartridge.
